1-to-N

1-to-N is an integer (numbers only) based system. Each item in the database has a unique number ID.

When items are deleted, their ID will become available again for new items, but they will still be listed under that ID in any list or report that includes deleted items.

When creating a new item, the system will automatically allocate the next available ID. IDs can be changed, but must be whole numbers (no letters, special characters, or leading zeroes ie 001) and not be used by any other "current" item.

As IDs are not linked to categories, items can be moved between categories easily without requiring an ID change.
